Cecilia Ravine Waterfall Hike
A Celebrated shorter hike on Table Mountain -
Immerse in Cape splendor
Variety is what makes the city's mountain famous.
On this hike the views of sun-drenched fynbos-covered flanks, (shaded in late afternoon) are contrasted with the brief drop into shaded ravines where rocky mountain streams flow.
The hike's centerpiece is a fern-filled mossy-walled waterfall.
The core circuit is a two hour hike.
But that is adaptable.
Once at the Waterfall you could branch out and ascend further, possibly to the mountain top; or hike into Kirstenbosch. These extensions are well worth it, if you have the time. But you are not short-changed by just doing the core hike.
UPDATE: Cecilia waterfall hike hits "35 world's best hikes (that anyone can do)" list.
